Fundraise for Keep Me Breathing

Firstly, a big thank you for considering us for your fundraising challenge or event! We are very grateful for support from individuals and businesses who choose us as their cause. Below are some tips, information and inspiration to help you to plan your day!

Here are a few tips to help get you started

01. Tell us about your activity or challenge

Please let us know any details of your fundraising event or challenge a month in advance ideally. We will add the event date and details onto our website.

02. Event Planner

Use our event planning template to help you plan your event or activity to make sure you have everything covered and enough people to help you run it!

03. Set up a Fundraising page

If you don’t have an account with JustGiving it’s super easy to set it up by registering with your email and choose Keep Me Breathing as your chosen charity.  We are already registered with them so our bank details are already linked to this site, which means all money raised will be automatically transferred to the charity. You can set up an account here: www.justgiving.com.

  1. Select the button – fundraising for a charity (Keep Me Breathing)
  2. Add details of your event or challenge
  3. Set your fundraising target
  4. Add our charity log  Download our logo here: Logo
  5. Add an optional paragraph about Keep Me Breathing to your page.

You can of course use alternative crowdfunding sites such as GoFundMe or Fundly, just make sure our charity is linked.

04. Sponsorship form

If your event includes gathering sponsorship from friends and family here is a template form you can use to add your own details: Sponsorship Form Resource
Ask your employer, school or college if they would consider match funding what you raise!

05. Social media posts

Create your own social media posts to announce the challenge or event and keep posting on your own accounts/ across other local facebook groups in your area and encourage friends and family to share.

Here are some template social media posts that you may find helpful. Just add your own event details.

Please tag us in any social posts (Facebook is @keepmebreathingfb and Instagram is @keepmebreathinginsta). This means we can share any social posts you create across our own charity channels to boost awareness and donations.

Continue posting ideally at least a month in advance and upload any photos from the challenge / event during and afterwards to maximise the amount of potential donations.

Thank people for their support and post how much money you raised.
We will also post how much money was raised for the charity and of course a big thank you for your support.

Tip: If its a big enough or unique challenge then local press may be interested in hearing about it, so consider contacting your local paper or radio station and email them the details. They may be interested in sending a reporter to interview you/ the team.

06. Posters or flyers

Depending on what your event is, you may also be able to put up posters or hand out flyers in your local community.  Please be aware we can’t unfortunately cover any printing costs for individual events or challenges. We can provide you with a high resolution version of our logo for any printing. Download our logo here: Logo

07. Merchandise & charity branding

We can provide branded collection tins and branded T-shirts for events and also have a pull-up banner that can be borrowed. Sadly, we can’t provide T-shirts for free but they can be purchased from our shop – or contact gayle@keepmebreathing.com to discuss options.

08. Let us know your results and how much you raised

We naturally want to feature stories of our fundraisers in our newsletter/ on our website and across our social channels so please keep us updated on your final achievements and provide us with any photos, so we can shout about it.
